To me, there is nothing quite so quintessentially American as the Converse All-Star. I've been having a mad love affair with this shoe since I was 10 years old; my style is black high-tops, when they get older and more beat-up, I start wearing them with the tops turned down. My first pair had sunflowers on the lining, and yes, I do remember buying my first pair. I always feel a little bit more prepared to deal with whatever the world throws at me when I've got my Chucks on. I love these shoes, and I know I'm far from the only person who feels that way; the 46,000 images at flickr back me up on that one. So here, my lovesong to America and the All-Star. Hope you like. :)

Images from seriously all over the net. Remember how I mentioned a few posts ago that I'd found a new fandom? *g* I was just sitting there one day, blissfully ignorant, and then the next thing I knew, my last.fm account had been taken over by Fueled by Ramen bands and My Chemical Romance. I knew it wasn't worth fighting anymore when I realized that I actually liked Panic(!)'s music, totally without a sense of irony. You'll be seeing icons of MCR, the band closest to my heart, later this week, just for the record. ;)
